We use video as a powerful tool for communication, self-development and a way of opening access for people with learning difficulties. Big Ears works with participatory video techniques that put people in control both in front and behind the camera. We have experience working with video and people with learning difficulties as a way of exploring their emotions, interests, self-identity and life options, helping them access public facilities and bringing together communities of support through group video projects. We provide training for people to work with video in this way and facilitate courses for people with learning difficulties to produce their own videos.

"Big Ears Multimedia designed and taught the Outside In Pathways film workshop at the V&A Museum in South Kensington. The Project was applauded in Learning Disability Today, the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities, May 2007. Furthermore, Marcus Weisen, European Museums consultant in disability access 2008, described the project as a model of excellent practice in Museum Practice at the Museum Association publication. Big Ears has made a significant contribution with Outside In Pathways in teaching museums and galleries how to make provision for people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders nationally."
