Big Ears has taken Multimedia Profiling to a new level with its Multi Me resource pack. Multi Me consists of a range of templates that can be added to and joined together to create very individual multimedia hubs. Multi Me comes with a user manual and optional training and support packages.

A Multimeda Hub

Multi Me is intended to provide a means of bringing together many elements of Person Centred Planning, as well as making accessible other important information relevant to a person, in an engaging, creative, fun and meaningful way through the use of multimedia. 

The Multi Me templates are developed in Microsoft PowerPoint for versions 2003 upwards. There is a comprehensive training manual included, with step-by-step and video tutorials, optional 5-day face-to-face Big Ears training programs are also available.

First of all, a person develops a core template from one of the ten themes. This template acts as a hub from which a person can then attach any number of Add-On templates that are included in their resource pack.

Many of the themes have different versions to choose from, for example, ‘his’ or ‘her’ styles in the Rock n’ Roll theme, or team colour schemes in ‘Footy’.

The themed template includes a core profile section where media and information can be added about a person’s relationships, preferences, hopes, dreams, fears and what other people like about them. It also has a Media section with a Jukebox page, Photo Album and Video Player, a ‘Just for Fun’ and a ‘Plans’ section where appropriate Add-On templates can be attached. Examples of Add-On templates are: Communication Passports, My Projects, photo and video albums as well as interactive templates with animations and sounds. By joining templates together in this way and adding ones own media, Multi Me can become more than a multimedia 'profile' but a very useful and individual multimedia hub.
